This update is provided to alert you about upcoming events in the flying community.
Blossom Valley Action Item - TODAY FEB 25th
SDG&E representatives will hold an open house from 5 to 8 pm Feb. 25 TODAY at the Lakeside Community Center, (9841 Vine Street, Lakeside, CA) to answer questions from the public.
As many pilots as possible to come and meet with the residents and Planning Group members. Since this is an open house style meeting you can come any time and stay only as long as you want. There will be media and petitions to sign and both Blossom and El Monte Valley residents to meet and interact with.
New pilots and old still feel a great flight has been made when they can say "Made it to El Cap". If you have never made that crossing, I must tell you it is a fabulous experience, especially when you are able to fly back to launch.
The proposed power lines will cause a major obstruction that will make the El Cap crossing extremely dangerous.
What you can do to help.
During your morning coffee or tea, take some time to write a letter to the CPUC explaining why you like to fly there and how this obstruction will greatly restrict your recreational activities in this area.

Our guiding principle is that all foot launched pilots, of hang gliders and paragliders alike, share common goals and interests best served by a united effort to promote flying safety, education, and good community relations in San Diego County. We support hang gliding and paragliding at the national level through the United States Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (USHPA) and concurrent membership in that organization is the one and only club membership requirement.
